‘Translation’ of The Little Madeleine, Dent 1951.

La petite Madeleine ran to 392 pp. 8vo (c. 156K words) price 690fr paperback, with a colour gouache by François Salvat on the front cover representing an imaginary sad little girl on a Montmartre place. Mé dedicated the book to movie director and screenwriter Fernand Marzelle, no doubt hoping for a screen adaptation. It didn’t materialize.
